What is a Poetry Slam? Experience the dynamic blend of writing and performance in a modern and competitive art form - the Poetry Slam. Poets showcase their original works, scrutinized by judges on a scale of 1 to 10 for content and performance. Highest and lowest scores are discarded, leaving only the mesmerizing essence of the poet's art.

What is Spoken Word Poetry? Embark on a journey through Spoken Word Poetry – an immersive performance of original works spanning diverse themes. It's a potent form of creative expression, providing a resonant platform for voices to be heard.

Who Can Enter the Slam? The stage is open to all – from aspiring poets to seasoned wordsmiths, amateurs to professionals. Every voice is a welcome addition to this celebration of spoken art.

Poetry Slam Rules + Format:

• Prize: 1,000 THB Cash
• No buy-in to compete, just 300 THB cover for entry
• No props or costumes allowed
• No music or crowd participation
• Time penalty enforced
• Only original pieces allowed
• 2 Rounds: 1st Round hosts up to 8 poets; Top 5 advance
• Judges selected from the audience
• Scoring criteria are Performance, Writing, and Content, a score of 1-10 given to each 
• Winner determined in the Second Round
• Each round is a clean slate; highest scores advance
• Poems must fit within a 3-minute time limit with a 10-second grace period
• Example: 3:11 = -0.5, 3:20 = -1.0, 3:30 = -1.5, 3:40 = -2.0
• If there is a Tie, Tiebreaker: Lightning round with a one-minute poem
