ARTIST BIOS
DEGS
Music has always been in Degs’ blood, an accomplished pianist, guitarist and singer with militant flow and a golden voice, spanning eclectic tastes moulded by a musical family.
The portal to the world of drum & bass was opened for Degs after first hearing the sounds of Bad Company and London Elektricity at 15 years old. Six years down the line, he picked up the mic and got on the stage. He swiftly became one of jump up’s best kept secrets, earning himself resident spots at shows across Europe.
Years later, he’s honed his craft and become adept in many styles. With a strong R&B and hip hop influence, his songwriting and MCing soon took a soulful turn proving the adaptability and musical prowess of this accomplished songwriter. Degs draws upon an a broad set of lyrical forms, fusing fast sprays with harmonious singing inspired by the likes of Fats, Eksman and Dynamite. It’s no easy feat to master the dual-craft of rapping and singing, with few MC’s possessing the skills shown by the latest artist to join the Hospital family.
His debut single Poveglia (feat De:Tune) was an overwhelming success which garnered support in clubs across the globe and became one of the D+B anthems of summer 2018. With over 500,000 streams on his debut single, he moved from strength to strength, following ‘Poveglia’ up with a sterling ‘Mixtape Sprayout’, featuring unique verses sitting atop iconic Hospital classics, including the ‘Black Sheep’ freestyle which brought him to the attention of London Elektricity.
Now one of the most sought-after MCs on the circuit, the future is exceedingly bright for Hospital’s most recent vocalist.
LENS
Starting her career as a Brighton-based warm-up DJ, she's quickly become one of the most respected DJs in the scene in the space of just three years - a testament to her incredible skills behind the decks.
Linking with Hospital Records in 2018 - she quickly became a resident DJ for the imprint and a mainstay at their renowned Hospitality gigs. Lockdown then allowed Lens to unleash her full arsenal of eclectic weaponry and kicked her solo career into full throttle, catching the eyes and ears of the scene’s biggest tastemakers - recording guest mixes for the likes of Radio 1, Kiss FM and Red Bull.
Since her first show at Brighton’s infamous Volks, Lens has graced some of D&B's biggest lineups, from Sun & Bass and Brixton Academy to Fabric, Let It Roll and Drumsheds, and last year saw her career reach new heights as she launched her debut as a producer, unleashing her own jungle-infused flavours on Hospital Records and Spearhead Records
UNGLUED
From ravers on the ground to A-list DJ’s in booths and studios, the D+B universe has had one name stuck in their minds, Unglued. First releasing on the 2017 ‘Hospitality In The Park’ compilation with ‘Ay!’, he swiftly upped the levels with ‘Bootstrap Bill’. It decimated dancefloors across the globe with spins from the likes of Andy C, Danny Byrd, Randall, as well as receiving widespread support on the airwaves from Metrik, Noisia, Skankandbass and BBC Radio 1’s Rene LaVice.
The enigmatic Unglued is also the proud owner of 2018’s most sought after dubplate. His bootleg of High Contrast’s anthem ‘If We Ever’ catapulted him straight into the stratosphere of the D+B elite. 2019 saw Annie Mac making ‘Born In 94 (feat. MC Conrad)’ the hottest record in the world and asking Unglued to deliver a ‘Brief History of Breakbeat’ minimix for BBC Radio 1 to be played at prime time. Unglued’s debut album and melting pot of jungle, jazz, funk, soul and hardcore ‘Interplanetary Radio’, released in the summer of last year, took the world of drum & bass and beyond by storm. Racking up a never-ending list of A-list DJ support from the likes of High Contrast, Doc Scott, Flava D, Sigma, Danny Byrd, Etherwood, Pola & Bryson, Degs, Lens and many more. ‘Interplanetary Radio’ took to the airwaves countless times with top tastemaker endorsement from Annie Mac, Gilles Peterson, René LaVice, Shadow Child, Charlie Tee and more.
Bringing his iconic sonics into 2022, Unglued’s first ever studio album received the switch up treatment on his ‘Interplanetary Remixes’ EP, featuring the jungle slammer Fixate remix of ‘Total XTC’, the soulful liquid anthem and Sarah Story favourite Halogenix remix of ‘Way Back When (feat. Esther Durin)’, as well as a D&B ‘V to the I to the P’ of his breakbeat banger ‘H to the A to the R to the D to the C to the O to the R to the E’. His highly anticipated bass-drenched banger ‘Secret Foghorn’ was also released on Bou’s Gossip imprint, blowing the socks off of ravers well into the stratosphere.
