FAQ

TICKETS & REGISTRATION

How much is a ticket?

300 THB on Megatix. It covers the full 48 hours onsite, 4 meals, and eligibility for every award.

I bought a ticket. Am I registered?

Almost. There are three steps: buy your ticket on Megatix, click Join jam on the itch.io page so you can submit your game, and join the Discord. You need all three.

Does every team member need a ticket?

Yes. One ticket per person, since everyone gets an onsite seat and meals.

What is the age limit?

You must be 18 or older.

Can I take part online without coming?

No. Minuit Jam is an onsite event at Alliance Française Bangkok.

TEAMS & EXPERIENCE

I’ve never made a game. Can I come?

Yes. No experience is needed, and two awards (Best First-Time Team and Rookie Runner-Up, 4,000 THB in total) are reserved for teams who’ve never shipped a jam game.

I don’t code. Is there still a place for me?

Absolutely. Teams need artists, musicians, sound designers, writers and game designers as much as programmers.

I don’t have a team.

That’s normal. There’s a team-formation session onsite right after the theme reveal, and you can start looking now on Discord.

How big can a team be?

From 1 to 5 people. Three to five works best.

Can my team mix people with and without jam experience?

Yes. But if even one member has already shipped a jam game, the whole team is not eligible for the two first-time awards (Best First-Time Team and Rookie Runner-Up).

THEME & RULES

What’s the theme?

It’s Thai-French, and the exact theme is revealed live on Discord on Friday 23 October, a few minutes before the jam starts. No one knows it in advance.

Do I have to use the theme?

Theme is one of the six voting criteria and has its own award, so a game that ignores it will score poorly there.

Can I prepare anything before the jam?

Yes. You can bring any engine, framework or library, plus your own base code made before the jam (asset loaders, sound systems, tilemaps, input, menus…). You can also gather assets you have the rights to use. The game itself (its gameplay, levels and content) must be made during the jam. If you reuse code or assets you made before, mention it on your game page.

Can I use assets I didn’t make?

Yes, as long as you have the rights to use them. Credit them on your game page.

Can I use AI?

Only for code. If you do, say so both on your game page and in the game itself. AI-generated art, audio or other content is not allowed.

Which engine or platform?

Any engine you like. We recommend a web build: voters can play it in their browser without downloading anything.

ON SITE

What language is the jam in?

English and Thai.

Can I sleep onsite? Is the venue open all night?

Yes. Alliance Française stays open throughout the 48 hours, with dedicated resting areas, sleeping zones and calm zones.

What food is provided? Do you cover vegetarian, halal or allergy needs?

The ticket includes 4 meals. Declare your dietary needs (vegetarian, halal, allergies…) through the form on our Discord.

Is there Wi-Fi? Power sockets?

Yes, both. Feel free to bring your own power strip.

Will there be mentors?

Yes. Industry mentors will be onsite during key moments, especially right after the theme reveal and during office hours on Saturday and Sunday.

SUBMISSION, VOTING & AWARDS

How do I submit my game?

Upload it to itch.io and submit it through the jam page before 3 pm on Sunday 25 October. You’ll be asked for your Megatix order number.

What if I miss the deadline?

Talk to the organisers right away. Late submissions are at the host’s discretion.

What happens at the end?

Every team pitches their game in front of everyone on Sunday. The games are then collected: the judges vote the same day, and the public vote opens online for 10 days.

Who votes, and when?

There are two votes. The judges vote on Sunday 25 October, right after the pitches. The public vote then opens on itch.io and runs until 4 November. If you vote, please rate at least 10 entries.

When are the winners announced?

Jury awards on Sunday 25 October. Public awards on 4 November, when the online vote closes.

Can my team win more than one award?

A team can hold at most two awards: one podium place plus one category award, or two category awards. Sponsor awards don’t count toward that limit.
